Bride Wars? Get The Pin!

Bride warsSo I have to say that I love the movie Bride Wars – if you have not seen it, you need to see it to truly understand what I am talking about.  The plot of the movie is all about two best friends that have their weddings scheduled at the same place on the same day and the war that goes through it.  The cool thing is that they had some breathtakingly beautiful jewelry in there and one piece of jewelry is a Tacori blue bridal hairpin.

This beautiful hairpin is something that Anne Hathaway’s character wore on her wedding day and I have to say that I just fell in love with this particular hairpin and that is why it is on the blog … because it is beautiful and you all need to see it!  This hairpin is five faceted with blue jade petals which all surround a white topaz in sterling silver.

The great thing about this hairpin is it is something blue for the bride – you know, something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue – pick up this pin and your blue item is covered and fashionable!

Steven Zale Is The Designer Of The Season!

Steven ZaleIf there is one thing that I love, it is a man that knows exactly how to pick out and even design his own jewelry.  That is one thing that I absolutely love about Steven Zale.  This guy has everything!  He knows his style, he knows his fashion and he absolutely knows how to please a woman via diamonds!  This guy has been around for years and I have to say that Steven Zale has done quite well for himself … honestly!  First he was the designer of the Demeter Jewelry line and now I believe he might have his own line!

Steven Zale is one of those jewelry designers that are known for their pieces and just like this ring here, his pieces are constantly being worn by all sorts of different celebrities to all sorts of different places.  You know that you are golden when a celebrity starts wearing your stuff … seriously.

So if you want glam, glitz and everything between, Steven is going to be your man!  He is the best and he is one hot designer this season!

One of the greatest things about pearls is the fact that they go with anything at all.  Take this pearl necklace for instance, it looks amazing and you can throw it on with anything!  Whether you are going out on a date and want to look amazing or you are just lounging around at home yet still want to have a little bit of sparkle on your neck!

Pearls this year are all the rave, they seem to be popping up everywhere from the celebrities necks all the way to the runway and if you happen to see this perfect little pearl, you may realize just why.  This necklace is breathtakingly beautiful and I don’t even like pearls!

So if you are looking to fit in this year in the way of jewelry, you should definitely crack out those pearls or get your hands on something like this, they are going fast ladies so you better get ‘em!

Vivien Leigh’s Ring to be sold at Bonhams

The Art of Jewels Sale to be held by Bonhams on 4 December in London is shaping up to be a star-studded event. A stunning 18th century diamond, ruby and emerald ring, given by Vivien Leigh, the female star of the Hollywood blockbuster Gone with the Wind, to her life-long friend, is expected to fetch £1,500-2,000.

The “giardinetto” ring, designed as a bouquet of flowers, was a gift from the actress Vivien Leigh (1913-1967) to the vendor’s grandmother, the actress Mercia Swinburne (1900-1993). The pair became life-long friends after they were introduced by Vivien’s husband, Sir Laurence Olivier.

Mercia and her husband George Relph acted in many performances with the Oliviers, including a number of plays during a six-month tour with the Old Vic Theatre Company of Australia and New Zealand in 1948. The writer George Cotterell in his book Laurence Olivier, London, 1975, records, “The Old Vic touring party comprised ten administrative and technical staff and forty actors, including some of the Oliviers’ closest friends, most notably George Relph and his wife Mercia Swinburne”. Swinburne and Leigh performed alongside one another in The School for Scandal and in the Old Vic’s revered performance of The Skin of Our Teeth. The tour was met with high acclaim.
